BEN ALLANOFF SCULPTURE

Mojave 1.  This temporary piece is about 30 feet long on it's largest dimension and 2 feet high. It is made of landscaping material illegally dumped by an unknown person within a wilderness preserve. With the permission of the local ranger, I created an in situ  sculpture out of it, meant to last only until the material could be properly disposed of.  The design is simultaneously masculine and feminine, recalling features of the desert landscape and sky - craters, comets,  and shooting stars.
